Synthetic Uppers: Traditionally found in running shoes and most athletic walking shoe and now found in some cross trainers. Synthetic has many different grades and in many cases found to be lighter, stretch resistant and more breathable than leather
Upper Technology Materials
Leather: Still considered a premiere material, support, durability and comfort are its best features. You will find leather uppers in court, basketball, cross training, and some walking shoes.
Upper Technology Materials
Mesh: A lightweight breathable material used mostly on running shoes, but also appearing on most other categories. They are lighter, highly breathable and very flexible.
Upper Technology Materials
3M Reflective: Material on the uppers, often on the letter and numbers that provides 360 degree reflectivity for safety at night.

Outsole Technology Blown Rubber
•NB Blown rubber: A foamed rubber that is formed by adding a blowing agent to the rubber chemistry. The foamed air cells provide cushioning, reduce the weight and increase the flexibility of the compound. Lightens the shoe by about 40% and gives the shoe a softer feel. Blown rubber is extremely flexible, light and serves as a cushioning material. Used mostly on running and walking models, and works very well on shoes based on heel to toe movements.
Outsole Technology Solid Rubber Solid Rubber: A compound similar to carbon rubber in terms of abrasion, and durability but with the ability to add color to it. Exists in laterally constructed shoes like cross training, basketball, and in some walking and running shoes.
Outsole Technology Carbon Rubber Carbon Rubber: A rubber material with high carbon content. A carbon derivative is added to the solid rubber in running shoe outsoles is added to the solid rubber in running shoe outsoles to provide longer durability. Carbon rubber is an extremely durable material which is highly abrasion resistant.
Outsole Technology N Durance
N Durance: A high abrasion resistant engineered rubber generally placed in the heel or high abrasion region of the sole to provide optimal wear resistance. N Durance is a solid (non-marking) blown rubber. A smaller particle size make N-Durance a highly tear resistant and abrasion resistant material.
Outsole Technology N Grip
N-Grip: Slip resistant tread and rubber compound. The rubber is designed with a high chemical content (nitrile butadiene) that makes it oil resistant and slip resistant. Formerly known as sticky rubber on select models
Outsole Technology Vibram •Vibram-Rubber lugged sole that provides traction, grip, durability and comfort. Built on 3 interdependent elements-enduse specific design, compound formulation, and mold making.
Outsole Technology Design Features Heel Cleft: A deep flex groove cut into the heel of the shoe which helps to isolate the “crash pad” and provide flexibility to slow the rate of pronation and reduce shock. Flex Grooves: Horizontal anatomically designed external grooves found in the forefoot of the outsole to provide additional flexibility.
Outsole Technology AT Tread All Terrain Tread Outsole: Combines running and trail lug configuration designed for on-and-off road use.
Outsole Technology Rock Stop Rock Stop- A thin flexible protective layer of thermoplastic urethane (TPU). Rock Stop is located between the outsole and midsole and is designed as a shock distribution plate that provides protection against rocks by minimizing pressure on the foot.
Outsole Technology Tru Trak TRU TRAK: Multi-directional lug configuration which provides maximum traction and surface contact on rugged, outdoor surfaces.
Outsole Technology Walking Strike Path Walking Strike Path: Stabilizes and guides the foot through the walking gait cycle.
Stability Technology Stability Web Stability Web: Provides superior support in the midfoot, while reducing the overall weight of the shoe. Prevents flexing and bending in the arch of the shoe.
Stability Technology TS2 •TS2- Multi-density medial support creates a smooth transition from heel strike to toe-off
Stability Technology Extended Web Extended Web- Structured lightweight arch support that extends into the medial heel and provides midfoot rigidity & medial rearfoot support
Stability Technology Rollbar Rollbar- TPU medial & or lateral post with composite plate designed to minimize rearfoot movement (pronation & supination). When combined with TS2 provides the ultimate in motion control.

Pathologies Bunions A Bunion is a "bump" or buildup of bone on the inner side of the large toe after many years of wear and pressure
Pathologies Diabetic Neuropathy Diabetic neuropathy refers to a group of nerve disorders caused by diabetes. Diabetic neuropathy can affect nerves throughout the body, although it most commonly affects nerves in the feet and legs.
Pathologies Hammer Toe Hammertoes are a contracture of the toes as a result of a muscle imbalance between the tendons on the top and the tendons on the bottom of the toe. They can be flexible or rigid in nature, leading to painful calluses and corns.
Pathologies Interdigital Neuroma Posterior tibial tendonitis is an uncommon problem of the foot. When this tendon is inflamed in posterior tibial tendonitis or if the posterior tibial tendon ruptures, it can cause serious problems. pain in the inside of the foot and ankle, and occasionally have problems associated with an unstable gait, tenderness, and swelling.
Pathologies Knee Pain Knee pain usually results from overuse, poor form during physical activity, not warming up or cooling down, or inadequate stretching. Simple causes of knee pain often clear up on their own with self care. Being overweight can put you at greater risk for knee problems.
Pathologies Metatarsalgia Metatarsalgia is a general term used to denote a painful foot condition in the ball-of-the-foot (the area just before the toes). This is a common foot disorder that can affect the bones and joints at the ball-of-the-foot.
Pathologies Pes Cavus Clawfoot, or pes cavus, is a deformity of the foot marked by very high arches and very long toes. Clawfoot is a hereditary condition, but can also occur when muscles in the foot contract or become unbalanced due to nerve or muscle disorders.
Pathologies Plantar Fasciitis Inflammation of the plantar fascia, a thick, fibrous band of tissue in the bottom of the foot, running from the heel to the base of the toes.
Pathologies Posterior Tiba Tendonitis
Pathologies Shin Splints Inflammation of the tendons on the front of the lower leg that attach to the shinbone or tibia
Pathologies Morton's Neuroma A Morton's neuroma is a benign growth of the nerve sheath of a nerve that courses between the toes. This condition is an abnormal growth, but it is not a cancer that can become a dangerous condition. People may also experience symptoms of shooting pains or tingling extending into the toe adjacent to the neuroma.
Pathologies Iliotibial Band Syndrome Iliotibial (IT) Band Syndrome is inflammation and pain on the outside of the knee, where thel IT band is rubbing against the large leg bone
